Hilton Hawaiian Village- Kid Friendly Hotels

If you’re looking for a good family hotel in Waikiki, consider the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Here’s some feedback from our Aussie’s Guide to Hawaii Facebook Group

  • Huge, lots of pools, a water slide, restaurants & shops at your doorstep
  • Has a lagoon
  • Bus stop right outside & runs frequently
  • friendly staff always around to answer questions
  • Not on the main strip (sometimes better with kids)
  • Short walk to Ala Moana Shopping Centre
  • Rainbow Tower is “awesome”, best view and central location. Ali’i & Kalia are also good. “The rooms in the Ali’i Tower are beautiful,” “Lagoon Towers were fabulous!”
  • Good for families with kids, “heaps for kids to do”
  • They bring out birds every day for display
  • Ponds with fish and turtles around the resort which kids love
  • Fireworks launch every Friday at 7:45 from HHV
  • It has its own luau
  • Close to the marina
  • Near Goofy’s, which is a “super restaurant”
  • quieter at night since it’s off the main strip

  • 10+ min walk from the main strip & Waikiki Beach, “we felt too far out”
  • really busy on Friday nights because of fireworks at 7:45
  • long lines at check-in, sometimes 10+ mins
  • Diamond Head Tower rooms are a bit dated, but still had everything needed
  • Annoying resort fees
  • Staff not as friendly as they used to be
  • Food in the village is quite pricey, consider eating outside
  • Kids under 5 not recommended for pool slides, suggest floats

  • If you book tours, almost all will pick up at HHV’s “Great Lawn”
  • Time Shares in HHV’s Grand Waikikian
  • Grand Waikikian’s have kitchens
  • Ali’i Tower is “a little more pricey” but it has its own pool, bar & a great spot to watch fireworks. Rooms have also been newly renovated.
  • “not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for”
  • Grand Islander has apartments
